Which is better, the Toyota Yaris (Sedan) or the KIA Rio?

I'm buying a new car and I'm trying to convince my dad that Toyota's have better rep's and ratings but I would like to see other people's opinions... so, which is better in overall safety, performance, etc.

A toyota is better in just about every circumstance. I had a 2002 kia rio and those cars are only as good as the warrenty. I got in a car accident with my kia rio and they totalled it out cause those cars are so cheaply made that they wouldn't pay to fix it.

I know alot of mechanics and they all say toyotas are one of the best car makers.

Without a doubt the Yaris is a much better purchase. Kia has poor re-sale value, Toyota has great resale value, this is not an accident. You will be much happier with a Toyota.

Neither are good cars. If i were you i would get a chevy cobalt or impala or malibu! they have all of that and more.

The Yaris is much better as an overall car. The Kia Rio is fair but will your dad be there to pick you up when it breaks down? Sure the warranty is great but  even with free repairs, breaking down isn't fun and the Yaris is roomier and safer as well. You get what you pay for here.

when it comes to performance both cars are about the same, these 2 cars were not designed for performance

the toyota yaris is better in every category, it will last you longer and have a way better resale value then any KIA... kias are pieces of c**p cars why do u think its so cheap?

go with the toyota it may cost a little more but its worth it down the line
