  1. Are you crippled or over 65...walk.

  2. Golf is a walking game. That's why the pros walk.

Walking also make you play better. You get a better sense of distances, of the terrain, the lay of the land and turf conditions.

And ironically, it's been shown that a walking foursome can play faster than a riding foursome. Unless I'm being held up by buffoons in carts, I can walk a course in just around three hours.

  3. I hardly see a difference in my game if I walk or drive.  personally I like walking better because it makes me feel less lazy.

  4. i am 53 I walk there to much horse play with golf cart

  5. walking

  6. Depends on a several things:

Length of course & your physical condition & your level of play.

    Walking (PLUS)

If you're young & in good physical shape, then walking can be invigorating!

    Walking (MINUS)

But if you are a high handicapper (shoot 95 or higher)...you could slow the play for other golfers behind you.  If the course is long (over 6000 yds) and very hilly, you could find yourself breathing heavy everytime you reach your ball.

    Riding (PLUS)

Riding in a cart eliminates any chance of getting tired walking & carrying your bag.  Riding also speeds up your play as you can get to your ball quicker and even help locate your walking golf partners' balls.

    Riding (MINUS)

Usually can cost from $12-$18 in addition to green fee.

Cannot park cart anywhere within 30 feet around greens and never on a Par 3.

Also, when "Cartpath Only" rule is in effect, you end up having to leave your cart on cartpath and walk most of the course anyway!

If you're young & in reasonably good shape, walk the course.  You can usually get a better feel for the course and time to think about your game walking between shots.  Plus enjoy nature!

  7. Directly proportional to the number of Budweisers consumed.(or plan to be consumed).    Take a cart.

  8. I try to keep it simple. Anytime I can walk, I walk while playing. I only ride where it is mandatory to take a cart. When you play golf with a golf cart, you spend an inordinate amount of your experience riding in or operating a golf cart. A good player should be able to feel the course with their feet, and - I believe - your secondary senses provide you a great deal of feedback about your environment when you walk. And finally, I feel it is a lot easier to align yourself consistently well if you have the opportunity to walk up to your ball keeping your ball between you and your eventual target. Good luck with your game no matter what you decide to do.
