Which is better, windows xp or linux?

Question

ive searched the web but no luck i dont like reading alot. but i would like a short paragraph to justify your answer. PLEASE!!

Linux is just a better operating system - there's no rush to market to make a profit, the programming "staff" is larger than anything Microsoft would want to hire, cost is no object when making it better - ih, and it's open source, so there are no hidden surprises.

But running Linux takes actual knowledge (meaning that you have to spend the effort to learn - if you don't like reading a lot, Linux isn't for you).

you absolutely do not need to know how to program to run Linux.  What you do need to be willing to do is spend some time researching your hardware purchases as not all hardware vendors support Linux.  For instance, old ATI video cards royally suck on Linux.  Linux is not as resource intensive as Windows.  Linux has more FOSS apps designed for it.  You have to be careful on the type of distribution too because certain distributions put things in different places.  Ultimately, it's up to you what is better.  For me, that's Linux.  However, if you are a gamer, you'll definitely want to stick with Windows.  That's not Linux's fault, game programmers just don't make as many games for Linux.

if you dont know how to program a computer, linux wouldnt be the best. xp is really good though. i would only recommend linux to someone who can speak good computer language

xp would be easier for you than linux. vista has issues but mac s are the best
