4870 or 9800gx2

also what would be better for company of heroes

i have ready many reports that the 4870 is but i want some opinions

one more question is

what should i get 2 gigs of ddr3 or 4 ddr2

go for the 4870, its much mo better in term of frame rates.

2gig ddr3 is not that just fast as the 4gig ddr2. if 2g ddr3 1600mhz would be a nice choice.

Overall i would recommend the 4870.  It is cheaper and better.  It also depends on which company you are purchasing the card from.  Some Radeon companies have bad support but a lot of the geforce companies have good support.  If you are buying the 4870 i suggest you purchase it from Sapphire, and the 9800 from BFG or PNY.

As for the RAM, DDR3 is expensive, DDR2 is cheap.  If you are not tight on a budget i say get the DDR3.

the 9800 gx2 is better than the 4870 at all the newer and more graphic intensive games (dont listen to all the ATI fans telling you the 4870 is way better than the 9800 GX2) but in this case get the 4870, cuz company of heroes is not real demanding and it is a lot cheaper. either way you will be very satisfied with what you get.

get 4 ddr2

ddr3's speed isn't really noticeable

and ddr2 is cheaper

4 of DDR2. Currently, DDR3 is not worth the extra price because it is hardly any faster and plus there are 2 more gigs on the DDR2. Now, if it was 2GB DDR2 vs 2GB DDR3, DDR3 would be faster but just not worth it.
