Which is better? A White-capped Pionus, Green Cheek conure or a Quaker. I mean better in a more playful, talkative, and active wise (even when they go into adulthood). Also, would these birds fit in a cage big enough for 2 cockatiels?? Thanks

  1. The

Conure might fit in this cage, but none of the other birds would, or at least should not be caged in such a small cage space and small bar spacing.

Always put birds in the biggest cage that is suitable for the chosen bird to fully open and flap it's wings. Ensure the bar spacing is the correct size so the bird can climb around easily and not be able to get it's head stuck in the bar spacing.

  2. I dont know much about the Pionus- I dont think ive ever seen one but I do have a GCC and a Quaker- they are both awesome birds.

My Conure is the most affectionate, playful, cheeky, loving bird you could imagine. He did go through a nippy stage when he hit 12 months but he got over that quickly. He adores scratches and is a bit beaky- he loves scratches on his beak and cere. I would recommend one to anyone that has the time to put into one.

Unfortunately I got my Quaker after he was neglected by his previous owners, so he is not as affectionate, but they can be very affectonate birds. I dont believe they are quite as outgoing as the GCC. But they do make up for it by being awesome talkers. My Quaker has the cutest 'hello' in the world.Unfortuantely he is also very good at annoying sounds (chihuahua yapping, for instance).

Quakers are about the same size as cockatiels, and Green Cheekeds are a bit smaller so there is no reason they wouldnt fit in a cage made for 2.

  3. pionus have a reputation for remaining easy going even through the nasty hormonal maturing stages. Look into the pionus sub species like the bronze wing pionus or the blue crowned pionus and Maximilian pionus there are several to choose from, check out my links

cage price range are big depending on if you can find a good used one or a new one will go from low end pricing to big bucks depending on size and quality..

green cheeks-cute and fun but nippy nippy nippy

quakers pretty cool also but very cage territorial
