Question:

Which is better Alpine Type R or Rockford P3's, or Sony Comps.?

All are 12 inches, and since I work at Best Buy and get a fatty discount. the links are as followed

Actually, it amuses me that Sony thinks their sub should be sold at $500+ retail.  Of course, of all the stuff Sony sells in Car Audio, this is one of the very few things even considering if price is no object.  But, you're not getting your money's worth, particularly if you're going to buy 3 or 4.

    If you're planning to put 3 or 4 in your trunk ... either the Type R or P3 will work fine.  They're both going to hit hella hard if given the right enclosure & power.  

    If you can get your hands on an Alpine MRP-M2000 with your discount that would work well with 4 subs.  Same goes with the Rockford Fosgate Power T20001 amp.  Just be sure your electrical system is ready for these amps.  They need a lot of juice to run.
