Which is better Bali or Fiji ?

If you were taking your kids ages 6 & 2, which would you pick ? Also which has better shopping ?

Neither. Take them to Hawaii. Everything you need is there. Bali is interesting but Denpassa is a dirty city, and very third world.

Fiji is  pretty but a bit backward too, the people are lovely though. and they do have a great little cruise to the "Yasawa" group of islands which is very nice, it goes out of Latoka. I'd still stick to Hawaii .

Bali has better shopping (if you don't mind the touts), but Fiji is more kid friendly.  The Fijians love children and all major resorts can arrange for quality inexpensive babysitting.  Certain resorts are known for being family friendly, and I would look for one of them.  Having been to both places, I would pick Fiji.
