Which is better Blair Drummond Safari Park or Edinburgh Zoo?

Question

I want to take my sons on a fun day out today, they love seeing animals so i want to try the zoo or safari park, has anyone been to both? If so which is better?

Definitely Blair Drummond! Edinburgh Zoo has lost its spark, it's just not as fun as it used to be.  (Perhaps since I'm grown up now!) Blair Drummond has more to offer for everyone.

i took kids to the zoo and all the animals look so sad :(esp the cimpanzees

they are all old now id goto safari park its much better...the animals there are happier and its fun u can go on boat to monkey island too

Blair Drummond.. absolutely!

At least they have room to move there!  (anaimals & kids!!)

The play park is quite good.. theres the seal show, a fun fair etc... far superior!

Blair Drummond it has to be. I took my children a while ago and they still talk about it. You can get really close to the elephants and giraffes, whilst your boys get fresh air and run around, using up some of that wonderful energy they have.

i have been to both recently. It depends on the age of your children. If they are old enough to see well out of the car window then they may enjoy blair drummond as you can drive part they way through the park and get close to animals. My little boy was a bit small for that so we went to edinburgh last week and it was tgreat. he especially enjoyed the penguin parade. they have lots of little cafes and play areas too.

i love them both. so either will be a good dfay out xx

I have been to both several times. The zoo is good, but i was there around 6 weeks ago, and there was very limited animals, and what was there, not many were coming out. Blair Drummond is good, but if its a nice day get there early, as it can be very busy, Blair Drummond is all on ther flat, and the zoo is on a hill, so if you have young children i'd opt for Blair Drummond. Also you drive around the park and there is boat rides around monkey island, enjoy both good days out!

I prefer the Safari Park because the animals are in large enclosures and have a chance to wander about but if you want to see lots of animals in a small area then the zoo is the place to go.
