i'm biased towards canon.  they're very light and have great quality, but they'll cost you a pretty penny.

nah j.k sony is a really good brand but if you want to get a bit professional with photosnapping than nikon is the way to go

In order I prefer:  Canon, Sony, Olympus, Nikon.... looks like you had it right lol. Yeah, canon is best me thinks... though there more expensive usually.

I prefer Olympus myself. I would certainly choose Olympus, Nikon and Canon over Sony. Olympus, Nikon and Canon are camera/imaging companies and make better cameras than Sony does.

I personnaly own an Olympus.

But I try not to be biased.

I you ask "better" in the image quality sense, well then i'm sure not one is better than the other.  They all make great lenses that can match any other brand lenses.

I've seen comparaison between different manufacturers camera and lenses around the same focal range, and you couldn't tell one from the another, they looked the same.

The overall better camera brand is the one that will still be around in 50-100 years, so your precious stash of lenses might still be usable by your kids and grand kids future cameras by the same brand.
