Which is better Denon or Harmen Karden?

Looking at HK 347 or Denon 2308 Receivers

Hi.There is no such thing as 'better" or "worse"when describing Amplifiers, only "different" Receivers are first and foremost amplifiers of sound.The one that sounds best to your ears is the one for you.Brands do not come into the equation.You can have the best video in a Receiver, but if the sound is poor the Home Theater experience will be severely degraded.

Argh!  why does it always have to brand wars.

In this price range pick the one that has the inputs and outputs you like and has the buttons and functions laid out the way you think.  In other words play with them in the store and the one that feels the best is the one to buy.

There really is little difference in quality in this mid-fi range (yes this is mid-fi, tick it up $4k to $5k then you'll be getting near hi-fi)

If all else fails the H&K is a little heavier.  Things usually weigh more for a reason, so as a last resort it would be my pick all other things being equal.
