  1. Sweety Pie is right.

The quality of the images produced has more to do with the skill and talent of the camera operator and as you know each store will have different employees, so unless there is a controlled process which ensures that there is consistency from store to store ( like Olan Mills), it will be a crapshoot

  2. Neither is really professional.  If you're looking for a professional portrait studio your best bet is to stay away from the ones in stores like Sears, JC Penney and Kmart.  They hire amateur photographers and give the hard sell to get you to buy.

  3. both are the same i loved my Jcpenney photo shoot. it did smell a bit, but it was easter ( they had a bunny) so everything was fine except for that. or just choose sticks.flip a coin. both are the same

  4. I'd say JCPenny but, the comment below me is deffiantly right. .  Each of the places barely had a lot of Photography Lessons. .  Something like that but, my Karate pics at JCPenny's did not come out that bad.

  5. I say Sears! I used to work there. Its true, they do hire amateurs, and not necessarily good at sales, but they do train well. They teach you how you structure large groups, make babies' laugh, and different poses. They are more "capture the moment" photos, not always a smile!

  6. These are basic photography studios.  They hire people who are not photographers, but people who can push a button and tell people where to stand.

I know they are cheap, but you get what you pay for.  So, I think you should scout out some free lance photographers that either have studios or have the equipment that they could do portraits for you.  This way you get someone who has more experience, but also will not cost you a ton of money.

    Thanks for reading!

  7. None, they are the same! They hire amateurs who are good at sales... no photography experience needed.
