Nero 6 is probably the best of the paid apps. After that version, Nero gained too many ridiculous features and lost any sense of stability. Roxio's just plain lousy, as are most paid offerings.

If you just need a top-flight CD burning app, try CDburnerXP. It feels quite like Nero 6, actually, and has pretty much the same features, too.

I would put my money on Roxio. It has alot more features if you buy the Easy Media Creator. In Nero, for extra's you have to pay for the extra plug-ins. Roxio, its all included.

Also, Nero is known to crash alot when burning data, Roxio on the other hand sometimes get errors when burning at high speeds.

Just burn at a decent speed, and you won't get the errors.

Roxio Easy Media Creator 10 is the best deal right now.

if money is no objection, Nero takes the gold. it does everything from burning disk images to cd's, compressing 2 dvd's to one, ripping cd's.

if you have Nero, you don't need another program.

I tend to like that better than having 4 or 5 different programs on my computer all for the same task.

so torrent a demo of Nero, or the full version to try it out. and if you like it buy it!
