Which is better Puerto Vallarta or Cancun?

I'm looking for a fun vacation for my sister and I. Which is the better vacation overall - Puerto Vallarta or Cancun? Thanks!

Definitly Puerto Vallarta. As you can see, Cancun is nothing different than Miami. If you are thinking in fun, I would suggest oyu Puerto Vallarta deeply. The mexican taste, the latin charm, the night fiesta, the typical gastronomy, the melodic mariachis, the hard tequila, the national custom, all that is in Puerto Vallarta, located in the Jalisco State. Cancun has nothing of these, and wants to be only the little son of Miami located in the same neighborhood (Gulf of Mexico). If you want to get unforgettable vacations with your sister, go to Puerto Vallarta.

i think personally that cancun is better. the ocean is beautiful and they have great malls, plus the hotels are mostly all on the beach or pretty close to the beach.

cancun if you want to have some crazy spring break, drink and party till you pass out

but Puerto Vallarta has less crazy kids and the beaches are beautiful, and overall its better.

That depends on what you mean by “fun”… if you’re looking for a spring break – wild night life type of thing, Cancun is probably your best bet – but I think I’d go someplace like Playa del Carmen instead. You really want out of those “bad” tourist zones. They are not safe and cost 10 times what they are worth. I live in the State of Yucatan for a reason – nothing bad is going to happen to me there – and there’s still everything available that is available in the so-called “resorts.” We actually have more people than Cancun, but NO crime!  Take a look at Merida and Progreso, Yucatan. Both are special.

Puerto Vallarta is very pretty, humid, lush & green.  Lots of beautiful hotels/restaurants. Has that beautiful Mexican feel.  It is very safe too!  Seafood is great here.  I highly recommend a restaurant LE KLIFF, great location/view.

Cancun, I love the weather (very humid too) and what keeps taking me back there is that gorgeous ocean water.  It is mind-blowing!

I love Puerto Vallarta (been twice), but I'm crazy about Cancun/Riviera Maya (visited more than 10 times).  PUERTO VALLARTA IS MORE KICK-BACK, but Cancun has way much more to do.
