Which is better? Save gas or recycle?

So what do you think. Should a person drive all the way to the recycling center to recycle all cardboard, paper, newspaper, cans, bottles, etc and blow a ton of gas going all the way there and pollute the air OR toss the cans, bottles, cardboard, paper, newspaper and save the world from all those carbon emissions? Which one is better?

Here in S.Whitehall they collect plastic and newspaper and cans,which is good but we also save cardboard boxes, slick cardboard alum cans and other recyclables for a once every2-3 month trip to the recycle place. I'm not too worried about the gas to get it there.Untill they invent a car that runs on something besides fossel fuel it wont matter much anyway.

Do as much as you can. Even a little bit matters. Just do what you can to help the environment.

Where I live, we have curbside recycling.  That makes it easier for us to recycle.

recycling is better if you toss all that stuff then your just overfilling our land fields but by recycling your helping to keep the world cleaner and safer, sure vehicles are polluting the air but think of all the junk in our land fields. SO RECYCLE.

If you must choose one, I'd say do the recycling but save it for one trip per month to reduce your emissions put out for that trip.

The recycled materials are probably sparing us from alot more junk in the environment than what is being put out by your car on that trip.

Recycled product has both economic and environmental benefits. Manufacturing products with recycled-content generally creates much less waste and pollution, ranging from truck emissions to raw material scraps. One 6-foot-long plastic park bench can be made from 1,050 plastic milk jugs. Five recycled plastic soda bottles can make one XL T-shirt. I fully support this mission.
