  1. Well In my opinion hermit crabs....But I still love bunnies! There so soft....and well nevermind.

    People who say hermit crabs are boring usually haven't had one before. If you set up a good tank for them, they are really interesting! I love watching them climb around and if you have alot of them they gather around by the food dish and climb eachother and its cool.

    I think hermit crabs are cheaper too, iunno about bunnies but hermit crabs cost me around $110

    Whatever reaserch before you get a pet!

  2. rabbit you can get a rabbit cage water bottle e.c.t for £40

  3. i would buy a rabbit

  4. Dwarf Rabbit! Much more interactive than a crab.

    I don't how much a hermit crab is.

    But I got my bunny 3 weeks ago and the total I spent for all his stuff was about $140 and $30 for the bunny (a purebred lionhead buck).

  5. the rabbit. it does more.

  6. The hermit crab is less high matience but there cages and food is expensive when you buy all of that stuff. it costs about 100 dollars for the cage. If it was up to me i would buy a dwarf rabbit because it is worth your money. hermit crabs dont do very much. even though the rabbit is more expensive, you will be happier in the end. Hope this helps! :D

  7. rabbit of course.

    herbit crabs are on the boring side. but a lot cheaper.

    i don't know the exact prices for herbit crabs and for everything they need, but for rabbits....

    -most rabbits are in the range of $50, unless you get one from a breeder(more pricey) or shelter (less $)  try http://www.petfinder.com

    -i buy a 4.5lb of food, i pay $7 at a pet warehouse, but at petco and other stores the same food is about $12

    -hay and alfalfa are both about $3 at walmart, but about $6 in order stores.

    -i bought my cage for $70, its 36"x24"20" or something like that. price range for cages varies though.

    -toys i get from the dollar store. i get dog toys and bird toys. and i give him toiletpaper rollls and shoe boxes to play with.

    -waterbottle costs less than 5, and don't bother getting a food bowl, rabbits always knock it over and make a huge mess. even when the food bowl is heavy.

    - i buy a 50liter bag of carefresh bedding for a little under $20, but i'm sure it costs more at other stores.

  8. RABBIT!

    I have 2 rabbits currently (soon to be 4 rabbits + some babies) and I LOVE having them! Here's a few reasons why:

    They are VERY easy to maintain and don't need tons of attention like some of the bigger animals (dogs, horses, farm animals, ect.). Cleaning 2 HUTCHES (and those are bigger/more advanced than normal cages) only takes me like 20 minutes or so (and it's weekly). Feeding them everyday is super easy too. You just give them a nice size scoop of food (depending on breed, size, ect.) and fill their water bottle. If you show them you just have to watch so you don't feed them too much or they'll get chunky ; P

    They aren't SUPER expensive either (but their not like buying a hermit crab either where it's only like $30 for everything, definitely way more worth it though). The main expenses are going to  be getting started.

    Here's a list of the things you'll need/maybe want:

    Cage = $40-60  OR  Hutch = $150-180

    Bunny = $5-50 (depending on if purebred or where you get it)

    Food Bowl = $3-10 (depending on size and if it's automatic)

    Water Bottle = $3

    Toys = $.50-10 each

    Litter Box (optional) = $5-10 (depending on size/style)

    Food pellets = around $8 for 25 lb bag

    Water = FREE!

    Litter Pellets = around $8 for 40 lb bag

    Shavings (for inside nesting box, if you have one or for bottom of cage if you don't use pellets. You can use both though too) = $5 for huge bag

    Fan (optional, but helps keep them cool/prevent heat stroke if outside) = $10-35 (You can use frozen water bottles too)

    Litter Scooper = $2

    I THINK that's is it, it's all I can think of right now ;P

    That's all for the cost though, so I guess it can be costly when you start off but after that it's very cheap, just buying feed pellets and litter supplies mainly.

    WOW, yes they definitely ARE interesting to watch! If you let them run loose outside or in your house or where ever it's bunny proofed they will go wild! They cruise around sometimes out of nowhere and bolt into a binky (where they jump in the air and kick their hind legs out from excitement)! It is hilarious! Trust me, all my bunnies do it when their in my mom's flower garden, which they LOVE! When there in their cage too they make nests (mainly when they are going to have kits, babies) and throw their toys all around and many funny things. Intertaining!!

    Noisy? I wouldn't keep them in your room at night because that's when they are awake (nocturnal animals) and their up and busy. For the most part they are very quiet though, that's the truth! Nothing like birds or... really any other animal because they don't neigh or chirp or anything.

    They can stand pretty much a lot of noise (when we get our quads/dirt bikes out their fine). So, play away! If you can avoid it though, I'd try too.

    They also can live up to 10 years with great care!

    Good luck deciding, hope you choose a rabbit!

    P.S. They DO NOT smell if you clean their cage weekly, ask my mom (who thought they did at first, well they do if you don't clean it like I said)! Their p**p doesn't smell, it's only their pee. So, just keep it fresh!

    P.S.S Showing them and being in 4-H is a BLAST TOO!
