a bird tweets and flies. You can't really play with it. A hamster on the other hand, walks, runs and you can play with it. Hamsters are also easier to take care of.

Hamsters smell and bite and make a right mess in their cages. Birds are noisy little buggers especially if you get a male one.

Get a reptile like a snake instead. They are cleaner and don't make a mess or any noise. Cornsnakes are really easy to look after
