Which is better a feather bed or fiber bed?

I already have a foam topper so if i get a featherbed the quills won't poke me. Does it make any difference if i put a foam topper over a fibber bed? to make it more soft? Anyway, i'm looking for comfort and softness overall. Which one would be better?

My mother tossed her feather bed in favor of the fiber...said she got better support than the feather and the fiber kept her drier atop the foam.
