The math and science school has only 1 AP, but it offers dual credit with my local university, but I do not wish to go to my local university.

I heard that the more APs you take, the better chance you have of getting into any college...does it apply here?

Oh, and the math and science school won't let me in until junior year...

  1. 9 AP's...they look better on your resume.

  2. Take as many AP or IB classes and tests as you can.  The greater variety, the more impressive it looks on your transcripts.  If you are truly passionate about math and science, that is wonderful, but more and more college admissions offices are looking for people who show that they know how to diversify and be successful in more than one area.  That's why an honors student with excellent grades can get turned down and an honors student with great (but not perfect) grades who also has a ton of extracurriculars might get admitted.
