  1. i had satellite and yes the picture is better but it will go out before a storm and after and i had cable for 3 years now and only went out four times so i suggest cable is better cause you can get out of a contract at any time satellite your locked in for a year

  2. Satellite has a much better picture, but bad weather can stop it from working. Cable has the ability to pause, fast forward etc.

  3. From a picture standpoint satellite is better because the channels are in Digital quality whereas even with Digital Cable some are not.  Also, the weather is not a factor as most people seem to think if your dish is mounted and aimed correctly.  I have been a subscriber to DirectTV for almost 10 years, in an area prone to heavy T storms and I can count on 1 hand the number times I've lost my signal.  It has to be raining EXTREMELY hard and comes right back once it slackens up a bit,  If you notice the poster above his cable has gone out for times for no reason whatsoever and I bet it took more than a few minutes for it to come back.

As far as programming goes it really depends on how you watch TV to determine which is better.  Cable generally has more "On Demand" programming so if you like to watch a lot of network programing and and such then perhaps cable is for you.  If not, then you can't beat Satellite for the pic quality, HD content and HD channels.  You can also fast forward and rewind just like cable with a DVR.

    hope this helps,

    weeder
