Chennai - ooty can be covered by Blue mountain express.. when u plan for kodai then u have to think about other mode of transport such as Buses... I would suggest you to take a cab since it would be comfortable. you can also cover DIndigul (place near to kodaikanal) - chennai, thro train. Both chennai ooty kodai chennai route or chennai kodai ooty and chennai route are same... it depends on the mode of transport you prefer
