It depends on what you like more, if you are a relaxed, calm, patient person then Chess, because sometimes you play against very concentrated people when you just want to get on with the game, but checkers is quicker, and simpler to understand if you aren't that bright, lol!

Chess will improve your mind and needs more concentration and skill compared to checkers..

I love chess because it's a challenge of the mind and makes you plan many moves ahead.

Chess is the best board game, and has a lot of values, like improving concentration visualization, patience, pattern recognition, memmory, discipline, decision-making, increases brain efficiency (thinking skills) , and so much more.

So chess is so much better than checkers, even though some people like checkers better because it is easy to learn.

Checkers by comparison is very mechanical.  If a jump is available you have to jump.

In chess, you attack your opponent only when you want to.  This allows you to set traps and be creative with your playing style.  

It has been said that chess is art.  I have found that to be true.

i personally like chess better because you alctually have to use strategy.  In checkers its just a race around the board, but chess makes you use ur noggan.  Checkers is for little kids, and chess is for sophisticated adults.

Personally I like chess more as it takes much more skills and is way interesting, as just a simple game takes lots of thought, thinking and reaction. Another reason is that there are many solution/tips towards winning, which makes your brain spin r-round and round and r-r-r-o-o-und!
