  1. Both countries are ok, but if you have the money and opportunity to go along with, why not the US?? =)

  2. I think it depends on where you want to work afterwards. The US has traditionally had better training for careers while Australia and other countries have traditionally had better education in terms of knowledge, but I think that Australia now has just as much skills training at university. Australia would probably be cheaper, though with the dollar so weak, this may no longer be the case.

If you go to the US, it will depend on the university how much it will cost and how prestigious your degree will be.

    Good luck.

  3. If you want to work in one of these countries post graduation then you're likely better off going to school there - irrespective of the relative quality of the educational institutions (or cost) in each country.

As a practical matter, graduate education in the US is generally considered to be without peer-there is a reason why so many top quality foreign students go to study here (makes it a bit of self fulfilling prophecy as well).   This is in large part a reflection of  the sheer number of top notch internationally recognized schools and the perception of quality (and higher research funding) which in turn draws the best and the brightest academics from around the world.  Graduates from these top schools are well represented at the most prestigious firms both in the US and abroad - and you can guess who makes the decision re: which schools to recruit at... Bear in mind that most US MBA programs have been around a lot longer than those in other parts of the world and their alumni networks are deep and global.

Of course many of the factors above are present in varying degrees at MBA programs around the world - but you would be hard pressed to find any country with the sheer number of internationally recognized programs (with deep alumni networks) as found in the US.

This answer responds to your "all things being equal" general question - of course there are great schools in a number of different countries and if there are specific aspects you are looking for then your tightened scope of analysis may suggest that the US is not the best place to get your MBA.

If your going to a good MBA school in Europe, Australia or the US its going to be expensive - no way around this unless you are able to get a scholarship.

  4. Both are on the same footing. However, you have to be extra careful while selecting Australian universities. Monash university, the university of Mebourne etc are good choices, for Australia. There is a lot more published info about US universities. For education info about other countries, you have to do a lot more research. There is no financial aid for an MBA. That's because its usually the employers who sponsor employees for an MBA. This is true of all countries except India. The UK is a good option too. It is expensive. However, unlike the US, the course duration is shorter. You may want to take a student loan for an MBA. Good luck.
