  1. Wow that a really good question. In my opinion abortion, poverty, illegal immigration and gun control are firmly in the realm of the federal goverment. Such broad and important issues such as these need to have consistent laws throughout the country. With immigration the consquences of different states having different laws is obvious, as with poverty.

With g*y marriage I see that as a state issues and when enough states allow it, it will most likely spill over to all others. Education although funded in part by the federal government I think would be better served by the state and even the county. The more a certian district can custimize itself in relation to the community the better.

  2. According to the constitution (10th Amendment) they would be states issues, except illegal immigration, which is a matter of national defense, and therefore a federal issue.

  3. States Rights all the way. Federal is way too big to know what's going on locally.

  4. Abortion....neither, it should be between a woman and her doctor.

    g*y Marriage....State

Poverty....neither, charitable institutions should deal with poverty.

Illegal Immigration...Federal.." provide for the common defense"

Gun-Control...neither the State nor the Federal shall infringe upon the citizens right to keep and bear arms.

    Education....State.

  5. All but Poverty, Education and g*y marriage I would say Federal.

  6. the state

  7. Abortion - individual

    g*y marriage - state

    Poverty - individual

    Illegal immigration - Fed

    Gun control - state

    Education - state

  8. The states should take care of their own challenges and leave the federal government to interstate transportation and raising military for defense, if absolutely necessary.

  9. Neither. The people have always been best suited to solve problems. Give the problem to the people and they  will come up with a solution

  10. Constitutionally speaking, the Federal government really only has jurisdiction over one of the issues, immigration. Beyond that, the Constitution gives the powers to deal with the other issues primarily to the states.

Seeing the states have allowed the federal government to take over a good share of their original powers, its not clear who would be better at such matters.

  11. Federal too much power.

State side I can atleast move to another state if they become to strict like Massachusetts.

BTW gun control doesn't work look at DC and look at how there gun crimes have sky rocketed look at massachusetts compared to all the other northern states they have more crime now. PS I live the Mass.

Now lets look at georgia where there is a gun in every home law and look at there crime rate. it has gone down. Criminals don't follow gun bans and because they are criminals are already subject to there own gun bans.

Once we lose the Second Amendment the 1st 3rd and fourth will soon follow.

  12. Abortion The state government.

    g*y Marriage The Federal Government

Poverty Neither it is not government business.

    Illegal Immigration Federal Government

Gun-Control It is taken care of in the US Constitution.

Education The state government the Fed should be totally out of this subject.

  13. While I'm certainly not a Federalist, Education and Poverty are the only ones I think are best dealt with by the state government. Those are the two issues that are best dealt with by a group of people that are closest to the situation. Every locality is different and should be funded and dealt with differently.

Abortion has to do with individual rights versus what constitutes a life and therefor if it is murder, which is a federal crime.

g*y Marriage is rights issue, and while marriage is administered by the states, human rights are the purview of the federal government and should remain so. The only reason the federal government doesn't do anything about it is because people are very divided on the issue, which makes it politically dangerous to raise the issue.

Immigration is solely the responsibility of the federal government as the nations border is the only one that is to be defended. Unless you want to start building walls around the states, it should stay that way.

Gun-Control is another rights issue, as the right to bear arms is in the Constitution. Whether you agree that people should have a right to bear arms or not, state and local governments should not have the ability to limits rights that are granted in the Constitution...nor should any other body.

  14. Abortion - State issue

    g*y Marriage - Federal Issue

    Poverty - State issue

    Immigration - Federal issue

    Gun Control - Federal issue

    Education - State issue.

  15. The states.
