I'm trying to lose a bit of weight at the moment, so I've started exercising daily. SO which of these is better on a daily basis?

Either:

10-51minutes' run

OR:

30 (well 33 to be exact) minutes' walking?

  1. Contrary to popular opinion it's better to walk at a fast pace for 30 minutes than run for 10-15.  The reason is because it keeps your heart rate up for a longer period of time and increases your benefits. Something great to try too if you have the chance is to swim.  It uses all of the muscles in your body.

  2. You should run 10-15 minutes and then walk for a couple minutes. This will help your muscles to not cramp.

  3. What you should try is Run one day and Walk the next. Thats what my mom does..

  4. It's recommended that we exercise for at least a half hour.

I'd say the running for 30 minutes. This way, your heart rate increases and stays in a certain rhythm as opposed to the running where your heart rate will spike up and immediately drop back down.

Also, walking is less harmful for your joints.

  5. If I were you depending on your age, diet, and rest plan I would jog or walk with ankle weights for 20 minutes twice a day.

  6. The more intense the better, so running would be the answer, especailly if you can do a half hour or more.

  7. they are both cardios...run only if your knees are stable...do some yoga or pilates after the cardio
