Which is better for performance? For international calling rates? Vonage or Skype?

Rates can change at any time, so it is best to actually check the individual websites for current rates, it isn't hard to compare.

As far as best performance, I've used both for both business and personal reasons, and hands down Vonage has the best performance. Skype relies on your computer, where performance is affected by your operating system and the programs you have running. Vonage offers a dedicated hardware phone device, doesn't use your computer at all.

If you're looking for more comparisons, also consider MagicJack and Via:Talk.

Skype is a good product, don't get me wrong, in fact if you're looking for a mobile telephone service then either Skype or MagicJack would definitely be the way to go. If you are looking for something closer to traditional landline service, then either Vonage or Via:Talk.

vocie.yahoo.com is still cheaper than skype....per rates!!

I use skype, magicjack, voice.yahoo and Packet8 which I get 40 foreign countries for free!!

in my case it all depends on the Internet connection, so far I've been very happy!

Depends on where you are calling, Skype now offers a unlimited world calling plan for like $10  a month. It doesn't apply to everywhere but to lover like 30 countries.
