Wing Chun or Thai Boxing. I've been told that what looks powerful in the ring can get you killed on the street. I personally feel that a good wing chun school is awesome. It's a hard style, simple, effective, and does not rely of pure brute strength. Thai Boxing looks pretty tough too, and I'm sure a well training Boxer could destroy an attackers limbs very badly.

  1. streetfighting lol....that is nothing but learning from experience. its best to have some direction.

sifu gary lam trained wing chun in yip man's school and is VERY good at it. but he also trained and taught in thailand. he said "in the ring, muay thai is king, but on the street a wing chun fighter can defeat a muay thai fighter"

they'd work well together. if you want fast results id go with muay thai. its just mean. wing chun is more "precise" and exacting. but also very good.

  2. Self defense is applying enough force to neutralize the situation so you can escape.  For that, any martial art is helpful and it is up to the practitioner to be good at it.  It's like asking "What's the better tool, a hammer or a saw?"

It sounds like what you want to do is break bones.  I doubt many martial artist are down with that.

  3. prolly muay thai. very brutal. you can cause gashes in the head w/ your elbow.

  4. honestly street fighting is the best but it isint tought anywhere it is very dangerous and can be fatal a loot of people living in the hood like me had to learn this the hard way after hundreds of fights you will develop sort of a sixth sense of what to do there is a lot of bone breaking and injurie this the best fighting skill it is but since you cant lear in it i think muai thai boxing is the second best choice

  5. wing chun has most if not all of the techniques that muay thai has and more, but it applys them with different different strategy and blocking /attack methods and intercepting methods (for the arms and legs)

the whole idea of wing chun is to not get hit durring the fight, and end it as soon as possible, with very little force or effort. wing chun has elbows and knees so in my books wing chun is much more dangerous in and out of the ring.

muay thai boxers get punched in the face so many times these days, its like no one told them about blocking properly.. instead of putting your fists to your head and hope you can absorb the blows with your face... or even blocking and striking at the same time

look at tito, he never blocks he just sticks his hands up and lets people punch.
