Which is better? Turning your volume all the way up on the computer and controlling it from the speakers or turning the speakers up and controlling the volume from the computer?

  1. If you have the volume on the computer low, and turn up the speakers, it amplifies a lower voltage signal, which would amplify any signal loss that is perceived by the speakers.

Running with the computer volume higher and controlling it with the speakers would not produce as much signal loss.

That said, it's probably imperceptible to the human ear, so it would come down to a matter of convenience.  I prefer to use the computer to control volume.

  2. It is good to control it from speakers for a maximum volume you can afford. this way you won't accidentally blast the room ;)

  3. I'm not positive but i would turn your volume all the way up on your computer and control it with the speakers.

  4. I don't think it makes one bit of difference myself. However, if your speakers start to shake and rattle or you get distortions, turn the thing down or buy bigger speakers.

In my opinion, controlling the sound from the computer is better because I don't have to get up and adjust the speaker k**b.  Itsjust a matter of convenience, not performance.
