  1. "HD" versus "HD Ready" is only about the built-in tuner. Original HDTVs were sold with only an analog NTSC tuner, so that's called "HD Ready", since it doesn't have any HD built-in, but will produce a proper HD picture from any sort of HD device (tuner, Blu-Ray, game console, etc).

If the set is "full" HDTV, that means it has a built-in digital HDTV tuner.. in the USA, this is based on the ATSC standard. With this tuner, you can receive over-the-air HDTV broadcasts if you're close enough to the transmitter. You may also be able to receive cable TV in HD, but depending on your cable system, you may also need a "CableCard" device to unlock the HD content.

As it stands, most of the USA (over 80%) gets their TV from cable or satellite, so there's no big problem with "HD Ready" version "HD", since you might well be using an external tuner for either one.

  2. Hd Lcd Running at 120mhz is the best.. 50 inch or more on 1080p to see the difference between 720p

  3. Any HDTV you buy is not really "HD" it means it's HD Ready. In order to take use of the HD on the TV you would a HD Digital cable / satellite box.

  4. You probably want to compare lcd tv or plasma tv. They both have hdtv capabilities.

  5. idk wat ur talking about

    its eather hd or not

    most new lcds are hd

and if ur talking about a lcd for a pc

then u need a conver box from frys or best buy

but a reg hdtv ldc or any one should have the connections for hd input
