  1. MMA is a mix of all martial arts molded into the perfect combat sport/fighting system. wat do u think buddy? knowing only how to keep it standing (striking if you didn't know) or knowing a complete mix of ground fighting as well...

  2. A good kickboxer who knows how to avoid a takedown should be able to beat a MMA grappler. But alot of kickboxers just can't get the concept of how to avoid a takedown.

  3. There is no such thing as better. It ALL depends on the practitioner.

  4. Well let's see kickboxing has always been part of the basic food groups of Mixed Martial Arts ( MMA ) along with others such as Muay Thai, Boxing, Wrestling/Jujitsu, etc. etc.

Now when you say a little of all martial arts you mean to at least blue belt in each art right?  After all "blue belt" is the standard that most MMA practitoners go by ( scientific fact ) and I do mean the least amount of practice per art as well on this statement.

So if you're asking that a Kickboxer who's been training in kickboxing for ...oh say... 5 or 6 years would be better at kickboxing under "kickboxing rules", let's say IKF rules just for the h**l of it, would be better than a MMA practioner in a kickboxing competition I'd say that yes a kickboxer would more than likely dominate in a IKF boubt.

If you're just asking in a street fight type of situation who knows and seriously why would any one try to burn such a bridge before they crossed it?

Now if you're asking if a kickboxer who only practiced kickboxing for that 5 or 6 years would defeat a MMA practitioner in the cage I'd have to say definately "maybe" being that a pro-boxer ( Trevor Stewardson ) beat the tee total h**l out of pro-MMA ( Marcus Hicks ) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WJgavCgYL... in the cage so I guess it all depends on the rules, the two fighters, their training and cardio, the hearts ( drive and determination ) and their ability to play a human chess match.

  6. k-1 and kickboxing is a higher level of excitement because of the better striking and ko rate. mma has some good ko's but there usually just lucky-sloppy stikes for the most part(not all). if you like to see  a guy tap out like a girl or submitt to defeat look to mma, you want laser  precise  striking and a higher rate of ko's watch kickboxing and k-1.

  7. Dont listen to that guy he doesnt know what he is talking about . . . there is a reason why the gracies have been gettin their asses kicked in the octogon for awhile now . . . any longer to fight UFC or in any other leauge you have to be well rounded in all arts or you get your *** handed to you. Street fighting is different most people that get in a fight in the street learn from the streets . . . so in that case . . . carry a gun, or a knife, or a bat haha
