Which is better nikon or canon??

Question

Im looking for a camera with good quality and cool effects. Which of these two is the best choice? Why??

Also i dont wanna spend too much, not lookin for anything too professional, just wanna take crazy pics...lol HELP

I heard Canon is better, but it also depends on the person.  Some people have different types of opinions on certain type of brands.

Canon for sure. We used those all through out high school in yearbook and newspaper. I still get comments years later about how awesome the pics are. Plus I just love Canons! So much to learn and do with them!

Canon is so much better... but Nikon i had like 5 diff. ones and everyone broke. Nikon are very sensative to sand dirt any thing in the air the zoom thing on front always screws up.  Canon you can drop a million times which i strangly have now if you want to have a good time i perfer Canon well hope i helped bye

That's a good question, which has been asked for years, and still remains a large debate. The answer to this question solely depends on personal opinion and taste. I have used both canon and nikon, with only a few complaints.

Canon cameras can tend to be a bit cheap, and break more easily, however the images are still good. But you kind of get what you pay for in such a case.

Nikon, on the other hand, makes more expensive cameras, which are meant to last longer, and the images are better, at least in my experience.
