Which is better place to visit as a tourist - innsbruck or salzburg?

I would highly recommend visiting Salzburg. I have been there twice and would not hesitate on visiting it again the next time I visit Europe.

The stunning 'Hohensalzburg Fortress' overlooking the city is most worthwhile visiting...from where you have amazing views of the city.

The 'Mirabell Gardens' are lovely...and a walk around the 'altstadt' (old town) to see the Residenz Platz, fountain, and to hear the amazing church bells ringing...and a walk along the river is also worthwhile.

Not far from town you also have the lovely 'Hellbrunn Palace & Trick Gardens' which you can tour. The best way to go there is by cruise first..then they drive you to the palace. You can then catch a bus back to the city.

The most economical way to visit various places around the city is to buy the 'Salzburg Card' which is available for 1,2 or 3 days...and gives you free access to many tourist places as well as free bus transport.

SALZBURG!!!! i went there a few years ago and loooohooooved it!!!  i myself hate museums and i thought it was great cuz there was so much to see outside!!! i also went on a tour witha group on a bus and at first i was like "omg what the h**l did i get in to??!" cuz the people we loud and obnoxious, but the beauty of the places we saw made up for it. i say rent a car and go around yourself. try the austrian desserts and pastries - to die for!!! have fun!!! :)
