Alaska!   You can live in the city or in total wilderness, you get paid for living there, and you don't get blamed for America's screwed up foreign policy (if some silly foreigner starts telling you how Americans are the richest, fattest, greediest people on earth, just tell them Alaska's part of Canada).  It's heaven, especially if you like snowboarding...
