Depends on how you convert it, but MP4 tends to be among the smallest and best quality if conversions are done by the same app. It's also the most widely used, which is just another bit adding to its awesome :P

(QuickTime, Windows Media Player 11 warns you it can't play the file, but i find that if you tell it to try to play anyway, it works fine!  haha!  Something for MS to work on for Media Player 12!)
