Which is better running on cement or sand?

for example the sidewalk or the track, and sand on the beach close to the water.

  1. i say if you want to run faster run on cement because your feet will get stuck in sand


  2. Never on cement, its really messy, maybe the hardened ones. You should not run on sand, its soft and the sand can get into your shoes and make running difficult. So you should not run on both, but a harder surface.

  3. If  you are doing distance you are better off running on softer surfaces.

    Running on the sand near the water may not be a good choice since it is not level. It always slants toward the water so you are running on a camber.

    That is bad for your joints and back.

    It is best to run on a level, even surface like a golf course or park.

    The track is better than the street, the sidewalk is the worst choice, but you must decide what works for you as to access and when you can run.  

  4. well it depends if your looking for a better time cement for sure.

    but........if your looking to build up stamina the sand because when you go back to cement it will be easy.
