Which is better showtime or chinemax?

was thinking about getting HBO and one other and was wondering which one is better?

i like showtime because im addicted to weeds and dexter! i love those shows. cinnemax is just a movie channel thats kinda boring.

I agree with the above. Weeds is an amazing show and showtime is worth it just for that half hour on Monday nights. If its movies you are after cinimax might have better titles. If you have digital cable or satellite you could go to where those channels would be and the info banner will still tell you what is on. Keep a list of which channel had the most intriguing programming and opt for that one.

Showtime has some good original programming, but it seems to me that most of the movies on there are kind of the weird ones.  You know, the independent ones nobody ever heard of.

On the other hand, Cinemax has good movies, but you're already getting HBO.  HBO and Cinemax are sister companies, so the 'new' movie premieres on one have often already been shown on the other.  I don't think you'd have any such overlap if you picked up Showtime instead.
