I mean the ipod touch is more expensive, it has wifi, not alot of storage space, can watch youtube, cant put too many videos on there, and a larger screen. but the ipod 80 is can hold alot of stuff like music and videos. it can also act as a backup hardrive and make it into my personal storage holder. then i wont need my jumpdirve. i cant afford the 16 gb ipod touch. which would you get?

  2. I stood in the chicago store about 3 weeks ago and had this very question, i was there about 30 minutes and had to consider this very issue, and the answer is- what are you using it for? I found the answer  myself, that since i didn't have wi fi, and would always have to go to the coffee shop or library to use it, and don't give a c**p about youtube, then answer was plain; i got the 80 gig, paid the $250.oo all at once, and felt a pang of guilt about it;

      but the fact is, my brothers all have smaller older ones, like the original 20g, or the newer 30gig of three yrs ago, and they last a long time,  several yrs;

    We dont know the life span of the new touch screens themselves. The touch screens are made of a polymer that's only been around for a few months; i am not willing to spend 500 bucks on something that's not proven to be reliable for any longer than the life

    span of a pair of gym shoes.

    So, like i said, what are you REALLY going to use it for? HOw much can you afford for the long haul, and will really have to buy a new one in a yr if the touch screens prove to be poorly compromised?
