  1. Well I have always gotten plastic because they last a duration of time and don't smudge as bad as glass. Plastic won't shatter in your eye like glass will. Or at least there's a less of a chance of it happening. If I were you I would choose plastic cause they are cheaper and more resistant. And I don't thin they sell glass lenses anymore.

  2. I would definatly say plastic. I just got my glasses and I got plastic. My friend she had glass/ metal frames and she said the glasses were uncomfortable and irritated the top of her nose. I recommend plastic. Hope I helped.

  3. I started wearing glasses about 30 years ago and my first pairs had glass lenses (I don't think plastic was offered).  I was always worried that the glass might shatter and cause an injury.  I changed to plastic when given a choice and noticed that the glasses were lighter and more comfortable.  The only downside was that the difference between my two eyes was much more noticeable (at that time I was only shortsighted in one eye and the plastic lens was much thicker at the edges than the glass one had been).  For many years now, I have never been offered the option of glass lenses.

  4. If you live in a country where you can choose, plastic is safer because it is less likely to shatter into your eyes and it is lighter.  But if you have really bad eyesight, only glass can be filed down into a very thin lens- plastic cannot be made so thin.
