I have heard that a mirror one still lets the sunlight in and makes it hard to see so you'll still need suglasses. but on a tinted one it makes it harder to see at night.

  1. I wear a clear shield and polarized shades underneath. When it gets dark I just pull over and take my shades off. I drop them in my bag and take off. Also works on those trips we have thunderstorms popping up.

  2. best way to go is the reflective one and always have shades with you....the tinted one will always be a problem at night and unless you can ride with your visor open you won't be able to ride well.

or have both and change them depending on the time you ride.

  3. it's all about looks, they both block light, they both make it more difficult at night

  4. The one that offers more protection (higher UV blocking) This is not always the darkest.

  5. I have both.  The reflective shield is also tinted.  The reflection or mirror is just for looks.  They are both like wearing sunglasses when riding at night.  You can change from either of those to a clear at night or do as suggested before me and use sunglasses under the clear visor.  If I only had one visor, i'd prefer one which is tinted over the clear one and when it gets darker, raise the visor and slip on some clear (non-tinted) protective eyewear.  Simply because I ride more when the sun is up.  Seriously, just get two visors and change them when the light changes.  Your spare should fit under your jacket wrapped around your ribs quite comfortably...... if you don't have a tank bag or back pack.
