I am majoring in Biomedical Engineering and my university offers a dual degree program with Spanish, Italian, German, or French. I want to do either German or French but I'm having trouble deciding...

Any input?

Study abroad to that country is part of it too

  1. French is easier than German, and is more commanly used. but German is harder, and you might be considered more educated with German knowing that it's harder. Personally though I'm in the process of choosing French. Also, since you want to major in one of these, i suggest going with which ever one you may know better or feel more confident with.

  2. If the German appeals to you, go for that. I have heard that it has some scientific application and it is definitely more typically the language taken by students in majors related to math and science. Germany is more likely to have something you would find useful to study abroad as would Switzerland where there are many German speaking persons.

  3. It doesn't really matter which one you major in if you're planning on doing biomedical engineering...  Pick the one you're most interested in or best at.
