Which is better to stay at Caesars Palace or Rio? ?

We have a standard room at both available and this is our first visit.

Caesar's is two steps up from the Rio AND it's on the Strip.  Rio isn't.  That should answer your question.

Rio needs some money and love spent on it, when I was there in February it was not the place it was 3 years ago. As has been said its also off Strip and not walkable. Ceasers is close to the Bellagio/Wynn league where as Rio is closer to Luxor/Monte Carlo Caesers wins hands down

Rio is not on the Strip but very nice all suite hotel.  Caesars Palace in right in the heart of the Strip and walking distance to other casinos.   Me, I would take Caesars

Rio is kinda old school, but Ceasar's Palace is hecka expensivo, but its in a better spot, so you decide, I personally would choose the Rio, its cool, :)

Caesars for sure!  It's located at the best point on the strip.  You can walk to many of the big themed casinos, like The Belagio, Paris, The Venetian, The Mirage, Treasure Island, Planet Hollywood.  It has a mall attached, The Forum Shoppes, which is great, lots of restaurants, good stores and it's very unique.  The Rio is not on the strip, you can't walk anywhere from there, so you'll have to taxi in to the strip or drive.  The Rio is nice, but I've felt very isolated when I have stayed there.
