Watching DVD is cheaper, but sometimes it's not enough to get realy sounds or images.

On the other hand, going to theaters is really fun, but it's cost a lot.

Which do you like?

  1. Advantages Home: less likely of having people talking through the entire movie. And if you had someone who talked, you can rewind or tell them sush without real consequences, like public brawl, lol

Disadvantages: Not having the real effect, like if you didn't have loud speakers or the big screen.

But you have to pay either way...soo.....if you weigh it out and prefer the advantages of staying home, then do so.

I'm neutral. It depends on the mood.

  2. DVD all the way.  I can rewind.  I have a good-enough home theater system, & S-Video which provides comparable picture quality (HD be damned, not worth the price).

And when all is said, & done DVD's are a tenth the price.

Ooh, I'm ashamed of myself.  I nearly forgot the most important advantage of DVDs.  My girlfriend & I don't have to be discrete.  Sometimes, that's just annoying.

  3. If you can get a system together at home that rivals even the IMAX, then why go out at all?  Click right here for that set up: http://www.avtruths.com/ultimatesetup.ht...

But it is rather exciting to be the first to see the latest releases and smuggle in drinks and snacks.  The theater is okay.

  4. Watching rental DVDs on a big [92" diagonal] screen when projected through a DLP projector with surround sound booming all around is truly the movie experience which one can share with family and friends.  And the whole movie theater costs less than $1,000 to set up.  Check out the following movie, "A Good Woman" shown on a Goosystem.com painted wall/screen via an Infocus SP4805 DLP 2000:1 contrast projector:

    Good luck!

  5. watching dvd. you can stop it when you want to

  6. well usually i go to the movies to see if i will buy the movies when they come out on dvd so yeah but i prefer the movies that way you can talk to people about the latest movies and stuff.

  7. To my mind, film is an art form that is intended to be enjoyed in groups.  There is a definite difference between watching a film in a theater full of other viewers, and sitting home alone watching.  For most movies, I prefer to see them in the theater first, to get that crowd reaction feeling.  Then, when they come out on DVD, I can recall that feeling of the crowd when watching alone, and I can also watch and rewatch to get more nuance out of the films.

  8. Theatre is the best in terms of quality. That's how the director intended the film to be seen.  I prefer theatre anyday.

Why are electronic giants trying to make DVD players that come close to theatre (24fps, higher resolutions)?  ;-)
