Im thinking of getting those skate spinners. the training equipment you use off ice, it helps you with spinning.

i was wondering which spinners are better. The plastic ones or the metal ones.

can you tell me which ones better and why. and also just info about it

I had the plastic rectangle-ish one (same as the one on your rainbosports link).  It did not help me personally.  Looking back, my spins on the ice were initially quite poor because of my poor entrances . . . the spinner does not help with entrances at all (my main argument about these).  Having patience and actually practicing ON the ice ultimately got me to spin.

Spinners can give you the feel of a spin . . . but certainly it feels different from spinning on the ice.  If you have good technique on your entrance, the spin part just comes . . . so to me the spinner doesn't aid with the important part.

    Just my opinion  :)

  2. i have one and i like the medal one a lot

and i cant really tell u why cause i've never used a plastic one

    srry!

  3. I have the one-piece plastic one, and it's not that great.  It's fun to use, but I don't think it's really helped any of my spins.  I'm not sure how good the metal ones are, but they might be better than the plastic ones.

  4. spinners are very difficult to get the hang of and don't really help with spins. My friend broke his ankle using on in september ;(

  5. Seems like the gold one is for pros and the standard looking one is for all levels......The plastic one is recommended by PSA

    pros.

Pick one right for your level.

  6. I have used both types, and both seem to work about the same. I don't like skate spinners because they have not helped with my spins, skating and spinning actually on the ice is very different than using the spinner on land. Many people develop bad spinning habits with the use of these spinners. Most coaches are against skaters using spinners as part of their off ice training. My coach always says that there is better use of off ice training than wasting your time on these spinners which don't help you with your spins.
