I was wondering which is bigger... I drove past a home with lots of animals and me and my brother were arguing over whether or not it was an alpace. I believe alpacas are smaller but I am not sure.

  1. llama those r a bit bigger.

  2. Llama.

  3. Llamas are a lot bigger. When you stand next to an alpaca, it reaches your face. The Llama seems a lot taller than that, but they are really just a little bit higher, average about 1.2m at the shoulder compared to the alpaca at average 90cm at the shoulder. The llama seems like double the size of an alpaca, though, when you stand next to them.

  4. Alpacas are smaller than standard sized llamas, but, to confuse things for you a little bit, there are also miniature llamas that are close to alpaca-sized.  There are still differences, though.  Llamas should have long, banana shaped ears, while alpacas have small, spear shaped ears.  Llamas should have a flat top line, with their tail dropping right off the end of their back.  Alpacas should have a slightly rounded topline, with the tail rounded down slightly from the end of the back.

  5. alpaca is smaller
