  1. These two terms are used in many everyday vocations, and they will mean different things from one vocation to another.  There is no "set" difference in which is bigger than the other.  Typically, one would expect a class to be bigger, but that doesn't have to be the case.

A unit typicallty means one of something, but a subset of a unit can be quite large.  A class typically means more than one of something, but a class can be one student and one teacher.  Good luck, but there is no hard and fast rule on the size of these two terms.

  2. I guess you could think of a 'class' as the whole 'course' in education, where a 'unit' would be a few lessons that are connected by the same theme.

But if you aren't talking about teaching, you might think of 'class' as a category of products (say Sport Utility Vehicles) whereas 'unit' would be one particular product (say one "Chevy Blazer").

  3. it depends on the relation

  4. It depends on the class.  Since most classes are worth 3 or 4 units, the class would be bigger.  However, there are some classes which are only worth 1 unit, so the two would be the same.  A credit or unit usually stands for the number of hours of classroom time you spend on that course per week, so it is the equivalent of an hour.  Most classes meet for several hours/week, so they are bigger, if you will.

  5. In relation to what?

    or is that the idea.

when i thought of it i didnt even put the two together i thought of a class as a class of students and a unit as a unit of work (like a subject).

I'd say the two dont relate in that manner.
