Which is cheaper a cruise or an all inclusive Island vacation?

my girlfriends and I are trying to decide on what vacation would be cheaper and fun for us. we are planning on traveling 5/9 to the 5/12 on an Island of some sort or a cruise

we are from the US

prefer Jamaica

in my opinion overall cruises are cheaper than an all inclusive resort for the same length of time

I would research both options. Short cruises are usually inexpensive. The only drawback is the airfare is NOT included in the cruise price. Either is soda or liquor. I see you are interested in Jamaica. Most 4/5 day cruises go to several different islands not just one.

But I have seen LAND package deals prices that do include air and are all-inclusive.

Short cruises can be very inexpensive.  However, the ticket is not what will cost you.  If you drink the bar tab will exceed your ticket price on a cheap cruise.  The upside is your food is included and it is usually pretty good.  The all inclusive resort if you can get it for a reasonable price will include everything.  As long as your airfare is included and the price is good, I think its the way to go.  No suprises on the bill at the end of the vacation.  If money is the main issue the short cruise is cheap and you can control the amount you spend on the ship.  (not a lot of single guys going on cruises though-if that is what you and are girlfriends are interested in ;-) )
