Question:

Which is cheaper to have done - cement work or pave stone?

I have a small walk way on the side of my house that leads to the side steps - it is 6 cement squares big.

I need that broken up and replaced.

In addition, I was thinking of enlarging the area and possibly getting the steps replaced.

I love the way pave stone looks and would prefer that (I know the steps need to be cement).

But cost is an issue.

Which is cheaper to get done?

Thanks everyone!!

  1. Asphalt, that's if you like black.

  2. cement

  3. My neighbor hired to have a patio done with pavers....about 300 sq ft....it cost him $3,500. I did mine myself, about 700 sq ft with colored cement and 22 tons of gravel. Including the cement and tool rental, I have about $2,000 in mine. If you can find about 5 relatives not afraid of hard work, you could do the same.

  4. if you're not doing any work yourself, cement(concrete really) will be cheaper to get done-you could get it stained for a really cool effect though

  5. i would go with the stamped concrete.will look like interlock or flag stone depending on the stamp and add some colouring .
