  1. I suggest a female rat or mouse.  The males scent mark and that produces a great deal of odor.  However, be aware that these types of pets (rats and mice) are not particularly long-lived.  Especially mice.

Read up on this type of pet BEFORE you buy one.

  2. Here are some pros and cons to both.

    Rats -

pros: They can bond with you

    - they can learn tricks

    - they are clean, and they don't smell

    - They are much like dogs, in the sense that thy can love you and bond with you.

Cons: They have to be socialized, which usually takes about 1-3 weeks, and can be frustrating.

    - they need a big cage

    Mice -

    pros:

    - They are easy to care for

    - They are fun to watch

    - They love playing with their toys

    - You can breed them and sell them to pet stores fairly easily

    - you dont need such a big cage

    cons:

    - they dont bond well with you

    - pain in the @$$ is they get lost in the house

    - can't learn tricks

    - breed alot if you gt males & females

    - kinda on the dumb side as far as pets go - liek fish...

I suggest getting a female rat, because they are super nice, and they love you as long as you love them! They are also really smart. Femalse don't smell as bad as males too.

If you get mice, get atleast 2, though 3 or 4 is cool because they play with eachother alot, just make sure they have a good cage. But make sure you get ALL females OR ALL males, or else you'll have like 100000 baby mice, which you wouldn't be able to sell or give all away...

  3. mice

  4. a  rat they dont stink as much

  5. hi i like rats.

i never thought off them till i met my bf he had  a white rat, then after she died he got me a black hooded female then after she died i got 2 females.

sadly theyve died and now am getting two more black hooded female rats.

    i just luv them.

    i miss having them around.

if u decide on rats get two off same s*x its much better for a happy rat.

i havnt had mice and dont fancy it.

whatever takes ur fancy do some research but both are clean and not disease ridden as most think fancy rats are special bred.

u can do a search online theres many websites which cover topics on rats and mice and many need homes recues etc.

    gud luck ...

  6. Both are clean and will groom themselves frequently. Mice tend to have a bit more odor to them (their urine smells more) though, especially the males.

Rats are highly social animals and must be kept in same s*x pairs or groups.

Female mice are highly social and must be kept in same s*x pairs or groups, but male mice are too territorial and should be kept alone.

  7. I recommend a rat...you can train them to be your best friend and they are just more fun...I had a rat for 6 years...and she was the best pet I have ever had...I have had mice and they just aren't all that great...very easy to drop and lose...

  8. Mice are smaller, eat less and produce less waste. However, male mice can be stinky, so your "cleanest" option is probably a pair of female mice. Rats aren't dirty by any means, but they are larger and require bigger cages and more frequent cleaning.

Both make great pets. Definitely get two rather than just one, because both species are very social and do much better with company. Rats are a little more interactive since they're larger, but mice can also be friendly and fun to watch.

  9. A rat is much smarter then a rat.  Most people think that because mice are smaller, they are cleaner.  However this not the case.  Rats can be litter trained, and they are much more fun.  You can theach they many thricks, where as mice just run on a wheel.  Mice are less socilable, so they may spend more time sitting in he cage then in your hand.  However, rats require more work and need to be out of their cage more.  I recomend gerbils.  They are pretty much just as smart, but only need 20 minutes a day out of the cage.  Great Luck!

  10. i would suggest the rat because it has been my experience that rats are far more social and fun to keep as pets than mice, but you do have to get a bigger cage and spend more time with them versus having a mouse. also, be careful of getting a white animal because they tend to have more medical problems and a shorter lifespan than other colored animals (especially if they are albino).

  11. A mouse probably because they are smaller. But I would suggest a hamster. I have one and I love him! He is small and easy to take care of. Doesnt need alot of attention or a fellow hamster. (they will fight) also he is fun to play with and easy to clean up after.

    Good luck.

Oh, I would suggest reading up on them BEFORE you get one. Just so your sure.

    Have fun!

  12. Mice are cleaner, but rats are much smarter.
