  1. They aren't necessarily different things. The finite element method may be used to solve CFD problems. Boundary element or finite difference may be used also. FEA may also be used for thermal, structural and electromagnetic problems. And, yes, it involves sitting in front of a computer for days on end.


  2. Cooler? they both require sitting in front of a computer all day.
