  7. Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia - home to the Twin Towers. It's one of the best places to go to!

If you're coming to KL, you should consider this:

Check the Twin Towers out. The bridge especially. You might have to wake up early to get the tickets though (it's free), as tickets for a late afternoon visit could be given away as early as 8.30am! That's how fast visits to the Twin Towers go! There's also a shopping centre that you can check out at KLCC (Kuala Lumpur City Centre).

Shopping Centres - Mid Valley Megamall, Berjaya Times Square, One Utama. The one thing Malaysia has is the amount of shopping centres here! These are just some of the popular ones. There's also Bintang Walk - one of the trendiest places to be in KL, within walking distance of Times Square. If you're looking to buy electronics - check Low Yat Plaza and Sungai Wang Plaza. They have a whole bunch of shops there!

Chinatown. The place for everything cheap from "branded" handbags (Gucci, Prada, etc.) to fake watches (Rolex, Casio). You can also get pirated DVDs of newest movies here too.

Aquaria - it's a gigantic walkway aquarium in KL (within walking distance from KLCC). I haven't been here but I heard it rocks!

Night spots. Check the city for good night-life - clubs like Zouk or Modestos. The other part of the city in Bangsar is also a good place to check out.

Other places of Malaysia you should consider:

Langkawi Island. A place rich in legend, it's situated at the northern point of Malaysia. You can go island hopping (there's a whole lot of islands around) or just visit a couple of nice tourist spots like Mahsuri's Tomb (a tomb supposedly for a woman who was accused of adultery in the old legends), Beras Terbakar or Kuah town. If you're coming here - check out on the legend of Langkawi (most of the tourist spots revolve around these legends). Especially the one about Mahsuri.

Redang Island. To get here, you need to go to the state of Terengganu. Get a boat that goes to the island and trust me - you'll see PARADISE. Here, you can go snorkelling, swimming or just lazing about in the sun. A great place if you just want to hang out on the beach and enjoy the view and sun.

Penang Island. Specifically for the food. Everyone talks about food when it comes to this place. Check Gurney Drive if you consider coming here, it has a lot of stalls open at night to cater to every type of Malaysian Food. Ferringhi Beach on the other hand has a lot of good spots to shop (somewhat like a mini-Chinatown).

Genting Highlands. Just about an hour and a half's journey - Genting is good for the fun lover. Basically, it's a whole city of theme parks on the mountain. It's the only place to find the casinoes in Malaysia too.

Cameron Highlands. Good if you're looking to check out on cold weather, strawberries and tea plantations. Although it may seem like a simple place - it's popular when it comes to the weather and the plantation visits.

Malacca. If you're interested in history - Malacca's the place to be. From A'Famosa to the Staddhuys, Malacca is rich in history surrounding the invasion of the Dutch and English in the 1500s.

    Food you must try:

Ikan bakar (grilled fish) - the best one is in KL at the marketplace near the Datuk Keramat LRT station. Simply insatiable!

Typical Malaysian breakfast - nasi lemak or lontong

South Indian-Malaysian fare - check the roti canai out

Otak-otak - fish in banana leaves (excellent)

Basic Malaysian fare - everything that has rice... LOL!

  8. dublin

  9. BORACAY, PHILIPPINES
