  1. Basalt has more water so it is less dense.  What made you think of this? Have you gone deep sea diving?


  2. The basaltic layer of the ocean floor is denser than the Continental granitic layer.

    The continental crust  extends deeper into the interior of the earth than the oceanic crust.
